Ariel Longo, Uruguay femenino

At 71, Ariel Longo is not only one of the most experienced managers in the tournament, but also the longest-tenured among all head coaches at this CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™. He has led Uruguay’s senior women’s team since 2016 and is now preparing for his third appearance in the competition.


Longo also coached Uruguay’s U-17 and U-20 women’s teams, sometimes simultaneously. His achievements include a third-place finish at the 2022 CONMEBOL U-20 Women’s Championship and a spot in the U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2018.

In 2025, Uruguay played four friendly matches in preparation for the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™: two against Paraguay in February (2-1 and 1-0), and two against Mexico between May and June (2-2 and 0-1).
