The CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ has entered its decisive stage, with the group phase complete and the semifinals ready to kick off.




Ten teams were split into two groups, all chasing a spot among the top four in South American women’s football. See who made it through and how they got there:


Argentina


La Albiceleste was the first team to book a spot in the semifinals after winning their first three Group A matches: 1-0 vs. Uruguay, 2-1 vs. Chile, and 1-0 vs. Peru. The highlight was a thrilling comeback against La Roja after trailing for over 70 minutes.


In the final round, Argentina sealed a perfect group stage campaign by defeating hosts Ecuador (2-0).

Brazil


The reigning champions followed a similar path: Brazil beat Venezuela (2-0), then crushed Bolivia (6-0) and Paraguay (4-1) to secure early qualification from Group B.


A draw with Colombia in the last round was enough to keep them on top of the group.

Uruguay


Uruguay didn’t have the best start, drawing Ecuador (2-2) and losing to Argentina (0-1). But La Celeste bounced back strong, beating Peru (1-0) and Chile (3-0) to clinch second place in Group A after a dramatic turnaround.

Colombia


Colombia began their campaign with a goalless draw against Venezuela, but soon showed why they’re a rising power in women’s football. They defeated Paraguay (4-1) and Bolivia (8-0) back-to-back.


Their final group match, a draw against Brazil, secured the last semifinal spot.
