The kings of sand: Brazil three-time CONMEBOL Copa América Beach Soccer champion

  • The Brazilians add their third continental title and are the most winning team in the competition.
  • Brazil, Argentina and Colombia qualify for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

The Brazilian team was crowned champion of the 2023 CONMEBOL Copa América Beach Soccer, after defeating Argentina 13-5 in the final match, played in the city of Rosario.

In the other matches, Colombia beat Paraguay for 3rd place, also securing the last spot for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, and Uruguay beat Chile to take 5th place.

  • Brazil 13-5 Argentina

Brazil won their third CONMEBOL Copa América Beach Soccer by beating hosts Argentina 13-5 in the city of Rosario.

The Brazilians dominated through almost the entire match, showing their superiority from the beginning of the first period, which ended 5-0 in their favour, with goals from Ze Lucas, Edson Hulk, Filipe (2) and Jordan.

The Argentines tried to react in the second part and managed to score one goal through Ponzetti, but the «Canarinho» regained momentum with a great shot from Igor, which left the score at 6-1.

Most of the goals scored in the match were made in the last period. For Brazil, contributions came from Brendo, Edson Hulk (3), Datinha (2) and Jordan, adding up to a total of 13.

Pomar, Rivadeneira, Medero and De Sosa scored for the «Albiceleste».

 

– 3rd and 5th places –

 

  • Paraguay 5-7 Colombia

Colombia beat Paraguay 7-4 in the 3rd place match of the 2023 CONMEBOL Copa América Beach Soccer, and secured the third spot for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The «Cafeteros» team will be playing the tournament for the first time in history.

The Colombian goals came through Ossa (2), Córdoba (2), Acosta (2) and Clavijo.

Martínez (2), Cantero, Rolón and Benítez scored for the «Pyandi».

 

  • Uruguay 5-4 Chile

Uruguay took 5th place in the competition after beating Chile 5-4, in an even match that could have been won by either team.

Di Bello, Laens (2), Cazet and L. Quinta were the goal scorers in the «Charruas» victory.

Tobar, with an outstanding individual performance, scored the 4 goals for the Chilean team.

 

– Final standings –

The 2023 CONMEBOL Copa América Beach Soccer final standings featured Brazil as champions, followed by Argentina and Colombia. These three teams have also qualified for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

In 4th position came Paraguay, followed by Uruguay (5th), Chile (6th), Peru (7th), Bolivia (8th), Ecuador (9th) and Venezuela (10th).
