Exclusive content for fans on Facebook and Instagram

The partnership between the CONMEBOL, the Local Organizing Committee and Facebook will make available «community managers» dedicated to the production of content about the 12 participating teams. 

The CONMEBOL, the Local Organizing Committee of the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 and Facebook established a partnership for the 46th edition of the oldest national teams tournament in the world, which will be held from June 14 to July 7, in five host cities (Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo). For the first time, each of the 12 participating teams will have an exclusive content production for the official profiles of the tournament on Facebook and Instagram.

To record the best of the backstage, teams and athletes, a team of producers will be formed by the Local Organizing Committee of the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019. Followers and fans of @copaamerica will be able to follow unpublished moments in official training camps, hotels of the delegations and even in the official transport of the main stars of the football world.

«This agreement will enable the production of exclusive content that will bring all football fans closer to the backstage of the oldest tournament in the world and some of the main stars of today’s football» explains Thiago Jannuzzi, general manager of the tournament of the Local Organizing Committee of the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019.

«With this partnership, more than ever, fans will be able to feel close to their idols and the daily conquests of their national teams in the tournament, as well as enjoy the images and exclusive moments that will make this edition, without a doubt, the best CONMEBOL Copa América of all» says Hugo Figueredo, CONMEBOL’s selection competition director.

The biggest focus of Facebook will be the production of videos for the two platforms. Besides the stories, other products will be worked on, such as Watch Party, Premiere, Crosspost and Video Polling (Live and VOD) for Facebook and IGTV for Instagram.

«With 400 million fans worldwide, football is the most popular sport on Facebook. We know how passionate that community is and, now, the followers of CONMEBOL Copa América will be able to have new perspectives of the tournament and accompany their backstages from a new perspective and interactive experiences», explains Felipe Kozlowski, manager of strategic sport alliances of Facebook for Brazil.

CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 

The 46th edition of the oldest national teams tournament in the world, which returns to Brazil after 30 years, will be played in five host cities (Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo), by 12 participating teams, between June 14 and July 7. In the field nine titles of the FIFA World Cup and some of the biggest stars of world football will be gathered.

In addition to the ten South American member countries of CONMEBOL (Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela), Japan and Qatar will participate as guests.

After the draw held in January of this year, in Rio de Janeiro, Group A was composed by Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru. Group B by Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay and Qatar, while Group C includes Uruguay, Ecuador, Japan and Chile.
