One of just two teams to have participated in every edition of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™, Chile arrives in Ecuador aiming for a strong run toward the title. Head coach Luis Mena is counting on a veteran squad to navigate the tournament’s challenges, while also investing in younger players to keep growing the women’s game in the country.

Coach


Luis Mena, Entrenador de Chile femenino

Luis Mena marks two years as head coach of the women’s national team. This is his second professional role after a successful stint with the Colo-Colo women’s side, where he was also a club legend as a player. He led them to the 2022 Chilean league title and another strong campaign in 2023 before being appointed to manage La Roja that May.


Under his leadership, Chile claimed a silver medal at the Santiago Pan American Games and now enters its second major tournament under his guidance.


Recent results


Chile has played six warm-up matches for the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ and will have one final friendly before the tournament begins. So far, they have faced Argentina twice (0-3 and 0-0), Haiti twice (0-1 and 2-1), Papua New Guinea (2-2), and Catalonia (3-2).


Their final preparation match will be against Bolivia on July 3.
