Copa América trophy will be exhibited at the Museum of the Brazilian National Team

The traditional trophy of the competition that will be played between June 14 and July 7 can be visited by the public every day, from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening, in Rio de Janeiro
From this Thursday, January 31, visitors of the Museum of the Brazilian National Team will be able to appreciate the object of desire of the 12 countries that will dispute the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019. The original trophy of the competition, made in 1917 will be exhibited until the start of the tournament, from 10 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, at LuÃs Carlos Prestes 130 Avenue, located in the sector of Barra da Tijuca, in the west of Rio de Janeiro.
At the museum, which is open every day, fans can admire the details up close and take pictures next to the trophy. Visitors will also have the opportunity to contemplate the eight replicas in miniature of the award, corresponding to the titles obtained by the Brazilian National Team: 1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 1997, 1999, 2004 and 2007.
It is necessary to clarify that the possession of the Copa América trophy is transitory, that is, that it does not permanently remain with the champion country.
The CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 will be played between June 14 and July 7, in the five cities of the country: San Pablo, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre.
History
The jewel of South American football was made in Buenos Aires by Casa Escasany, under the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, to be donated to the CONMEBOL. Made of gold, silver, copper and wood, the trophy is 30 centimeters in diameter, 75 cm of height and weighs 9 kilograms. The base with the plates of the champions countries was added in 1979, during the edition of the tournament that was won by Paraguay.
Groups of the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019
On January 24, the draw for the CONMEBOL Copa América Brazil 2019 took place. Brazil, head of Group A, will face Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru. In Group B, there are Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay and Qatar (guest country). Group C is made up of Uruguay, Ecuador, Japan (guest) and Chile, current two-time tournament champion. Located at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation, the Museum of the Brazilian National Team tells the story of the most times world champion, from its first match in 1914 until today, through videos, documents, photos, trophies and interactive sections. The guided tour lasts approximately one hour.
Operating hours: every day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last entry allowed at 5:30 in the afternoon.
