Brazil beat Colombia late, Peru in dramatic comeback against Ecuador

On a day of dramatic comebacks, Brazil win with a last minute goal against Colombia and Peru overturn a 2-0 halftime deficit to take a point against Ecuador.

In the first game of the day Ecuador and Peru shared the points in an open 2-2 draw in Goiania. With a second half comeback and a strong position in the group, Peru will leave the more satisfied with the result.

Renato Tapia scored an own goal before Ayrtor Preciado put Gustavo Alfaro’s side two ahead just before the break. Despite a slow start, Ricardo Gareca inspired a far more impressive second 45. Gianluca Lapadula pulled one back before André Carrillo equalized.

In regards to quarterfinal qualification, the draw leaves Peru on 4 points with a final game against Venezuela. For Ecuador things are more precarious, they have 2 points and meet Brazil in their last game in Group B.

Luis Díaz scored a spectacular scissor kick to give Colombia the perfect start before Roberto Firmino equalized and Casemiro headed a last minute winner.

With this result Brazil maintain their perfect record in the Copa America while Colombia stay on 4 points. They have qualified for the next round but they will have to wait for the final fixtures to define in what position.
