Brazil and Peru, who played the final of the last Copa America, will meet again on Thursday at the Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro in Group B of the oldest continental competition in the world.

It was Brazil who tasted victory on 7 July 2019 in the final. Everton ‘Cebolinha’, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison was the scorers as the Seleção 9 won 3-1 at the legendary Maracana stadium.

On this occasion they meet in the group with Peru making their debut while Brazil will look to continue their strong start with the elegant, inventive Neymar hoping to pull the strings.

While current form and recent history suggests Brazil are the favourites, Peru have also enjoyed their recent successes against the Seleção. Peru eliminated Brazil from the 2016 CONMEBOL Copa América Centenario with a 1-0 win and a Raul Ruidiaz goal.
