From first to fourth, every position is still to be decided on the last day of Group A at the CONMEBOL Copa América, which will be played next Monday.

Following Thursday’s games, where Uruguay beat Bolivia and Paraguay won against Chile, the fate of one team was decided; with three defeats in three games, Bolivia became the first side eliminated from the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021.

The remaining four teams in the group now know they will progress but in what position and who they will face in the next round is still to be decided.

Argentina are top on 7 points followed by Paraguay on 6, Chile on 5 (with all of the games already played) and Uruguay below on 4 points.

The final standing in Group A will be decided on Sunday evening. Brazil are confirmed as group winners, Colombia are also through while Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador will play for the final 2 places.

On Monday, Argentina face the already eliminated Bolivia while Uruguay will play against Paraguay. Almost every position still up for grabs.

ARGENTINA

A win against Bolivia gaurantees first place. If they draw then they would have to wait for the result of Uruguay and Paraguay to confirm their position. Regardless of events elsewhere, they will finish the group in either first or second, even if they lose to Bolivia.

PARAGUAY

A draw against Uruguay would confirm second place for Paraguy in Group A. To finish in first place they would need to achieve a better outcome agaisnt Uruguay than Argentina can secure against Bolivia; if Argentina draw they need a win for top spot, if Argentina lose then a draw would be enough.

CHILE

With all of their games already played, Chile will have to wait for results elsewhere to discover their fate. Only a Paraguay win against Uruguay will prevent Chile dropping one place to fourth in the table and a quarterfinal meeting with Brazil.

URUGUAY

Uruguay is the side with the greatest scope to improve their standing in Group A; the side could stay in fourth or move all the way up to first if they beat Paraguay and Bolivia loses to Argentina. A win gaurantees second place while a draw moves them above Chile into third.
