Argentine star Lionel Messi was upset after losing 2-0 against Colombia, in his debut at CONMEBOL Copa America Brazil 2019, but his teammates are confident that thinks are going to improve.

"We are uncomfortable with the result," said Lio, the star of Barcelona and the Argentine National Team, to the reporters.

"We did not want to start like this, obviously, but now it's time to raise our heads and move forward," he added.

Heartbroken after the result, the captain of the "albiceleste" trusted that they will be able to clean the way in this tournament. "I think that we are prepared for this challenge and we will try to get this frustration out of the way."

Messi recognized the Colombian´s superiority in the first half, but affirmed that, in the second half, when Argentina found more spaces, the Colombians focused in a rough game.

"In the first half we spread out a little more and we kept it, in the second we were more confident and played better" he said.

"Losing is always bad for us, we usually take it to the maximum level, now we have to think in Paraguay," he added.

"We have to trust in us, we know the quality of players that we have, we have to raise our heads (...) There is always a lot to improve, we trust in the coach and in the squad we have," said Matís Suárez, River Plate´s striker.

"The second half was better, we generated a lot more chances, but unfortunately they scored the goal in our best performance, we are a growing team, we have to improve a lot," said midfielder Leandro Paredes.
