Canarinha took control early and will play for the title in the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™

- Amanda Gutierres scored two of Brazil’s five goals.
- La Celeste will play for third place against Argentina.
With a dominant performance, Brazil defeated Uruguay 5-1 on Tuesday, July 29, and secured a spot in the Final of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™. Canarinha will face Colombia for the title on August 2.
Uruguay struck first just five minutes in: Aquino broke down the left and crossed to Wendy Carballo, whose shot forced a great save from Cláudia. But Brazil responded with clinical precision. In the 11th minute, Marta crossed for Amanda to head in the opener, and two minutes later, Gio converted after a pass from Fátima to make it 2-0.
Uruguay came close again when Yannel Correa hit the crossbar from a free kick, but Brazil dominated the rest. At the 24-minute mark, Farías fouled Isa Haas in the box, and Marta calmly converted the penalty. Gio still had another big chance before halftime.
The second half was more open, with chances for both sides. Uruguay pulled one back in the 51st minute, when a corner deflected off Isa Haas for an own goal. At 65 minutes, Amanda Gutierres scored her fifth of the tournament with a powerful free kick. Near the end, Dudinha finished off a great pass from Duda Sampaio to make it 5-1.
Uruguay’s next match will be the third-place playoff against Argentina on Friday, August 1.
