A historic day at the close of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026™ saw Peru achieve the best result in its history in the continental tournament.
After 2 minutes, La Bicolor moved the ball from side to side and Obando finished into the net. At 5’, a well-placed toe-poke by Mallaupoma extended the lead, but late in the first half a powerful strike from Francia pulled one back for La Vinotinto.
In the second half, after a shot hit the post and a save by Villalobos, Tavera converted the rebound to give Ruscica’s side a two-goal advantage. With six minutes remaining, Rivera sealed the win.
