Peru secured a historic qualification for the semifinals
  • Claimed their third victory in Group A and became the third team to reach the semifinals.
  • Rojas and Obando scored for La Bicolor.

In a true do-or-die clash for a place in the semifinals of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026™, Peru defeated Uruguay 2–1 and secured their spot in the title race.

The first half ended scoreless, with both sides creating chances but lacking accuracy in the final touch.

Peru broke the deadlock with an excellent free kick from Rojas, setting the tone for Facundo Ruscica’s side. Minutes later, Obando capitalized on a mistake by the Uruguayan goalkeeper to make it 2–0.

With three minutes remaining, Nicolás Martínez pulled one back for Uruguay, giving them hope, but despite pushing forward until the end, they were unable to find an equalizer.
