Argentina delivered a strong performance against Peru

• Peru were coming off a win against the hosts on Matchday 1.
• Argentina had to change their goalkeeper early in the match.

Matchday 2 of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026™ featured an exciting Group A clash, as Argentina faced Peru in their tournament debut.

The match got off to a fast-paced start. Argentina lost goalkeeper Sarmiento to injury and Acosta came on as his replacement, while Peru’s Juárez was sent off. When La Bicolor were back to five players on court, in the 4th minute, Argentina scored the opener thanks to a powerful long-range strike from Rosa.

The start of the second half shook Peru once again: Cuello extended Argentina’s lead just 20 seconds after the restart.

Peru pulled one back through Ulloa in the 12th minute, but immediately Granda scored for Argentina to restore the two-goal advantage. In the final play of the match, with Peru fully committed to attack and without a goalkeeper, Plaza sealed the 4–1 scoreline with a shot from behind midfield.

Argentina will play their second match on Monday against Uruguay, while Peru will face Ecuador looking to bounce back.
