Colombia shines against Bolivia and dreams of the semifinals

Colombia secured a crucial 8-0 victory over Bolivia to reach seven points in Group B and keep alive their hopes of reaching the semifinals of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™.

Colombia delivered a sensational first half, scoring five times. Captain Daniela Montoya was outstanding down the right flank and netted a brace. Forwards Mayra Ramírez and Linda Caicedo also found the back of the net, while another goal came from an own goal by Anabel Flores.

In the second half, Bolivia created their first real chance when Doerksen headed a cross that was deflected and forced Tapia to send it out for a corner.

The Cafeteras kept pushing and extended their lead: Mayra Ramírez, who had already assisted both Caicedo and Montoya in the first half, broke through on the right, Sánchez failed to control the ball, and Wendy Bonilla capitalized to score.

Defender Jorelyn Carabalí added another in the 70th minute, and substitute Valerin Loboa sealed the 8-0 win with a stoppage-time goal.

Colombia not only earned an important win but also boosted their goal difference. They will fight for a semifinal spot in their final match against Brazil, scheduled for Friday, July 25. Bolivia, meanwhile, concluded their campaign with four defeats.
