Marta, the legend who returned and starred to win the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™
The 39-year-old Brazilian won the tournament for the fourth time in her career.

- Scored twice in the final against Colombia and was named MVP.
- Returned to the national team just months before the tournament.
Marta did it again: Brazil’s iconic No. 10 lifted the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™ trophy for the fourth time, following titles in 2003, 2010 and 2018.
The women's football legend had announced her retirement from the national team after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but made a comeback to the Canarinha in May, during friendly matches ahead of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™.
She had already scored in the tournament during Brazil’s 5-1 semifinal win over Uruguay. But she saved her best for the final.
In the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ final, Marta came on in the 82nd minute, with the match tied 2-2. Mayra Ramírez made it 3-2 in the 88th, but in stoppage time, Marta equalized with a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box.
In extra time, with her right foot, the No. 10 put Brazil ahead 4-3. In the dying moments, Leicy Santos leveled the score again, sending the match to a penalty shootout.
Marta took a penalty and missed, but Brazil eventually prevailed and claimed their ninth continental title.
