Brazil is getting ready to defend its CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™ title. And for its next two friendlies, it will count on the returns of Marta and Debinha.

Marta (39) is Brazil’s all-time top scorer and hasn’t played for the national team since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. “I spoke with Marta recently, and she made herself available. She had a great season and was important for her club. Her presence in some call-ups is very valuable for the younger players,” said coach Arthur Elias.

Debinha (33) was left out of the squad for the last Olympics and hadn’t been called up since: “Debinha had plenty of opportunities up until the Olympics, and then I felt other players had adapted better to our playing style. We made a decision that led us to a silver medal. Debinha is still doing very well at her club, she’s one of the standouts in the U.S. league, and she’s a player whose qualities I really like,” Elias explained.

Brazil will face Japan in São Paulo on May 30 and June 2 as part of its preparation for the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™, which will be held in Ecuador from July 12 to August 2.
