- The Brazilian teams are competing for the continental title.
- A total of five players involved participated in the world’s oldest national team tournament.
This Saturday at 5 PM (GMT -3) at the Más Monumental Stadium (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Atlético Mineiro and Botafogo will decide the CONMEBOL Libertadores champion.
Just like in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana a week ago, the tournament champion will feature players who participated in the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™.
For the Belo Horizonte team, there are four players: Junior Alonso, Alan Franco, Guilherme Arana, and Eduardo Vargas, who knows what it’s like to win the CONMEBOL Copa América™, having done so in 2015 and 2016.
In the Rio de Janeiro team, their No. 10 is Jefferson Savarino, who represented Venezuela in the world’s oldest national team tournament and played a key role in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Semifinals, scoring two goals against Peñarol in the first leg.
Additionally, Atlético Mineiro’s coach is Gabriel Milito, who played in the CONMEBOL Copa América™ in 2007 and 2011.
