The CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ kicks off: everything you need to know about the tournament

The wait is over: the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ kicks off this Friday in Quito, with a Group A match between Ecuador and Uruguay at the IDV Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time.
How are the groups formed?
There will be two groups:
Group A: Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Peru.
Group B: Brazil (defending champions), Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela, and Bolivia.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Third-place teams will play for fifth place.
The Group Stage will take place from July 11 to 25. The Final Stage will be played from July 28 to August 2.
Which stadiums will host the matches?
There will be three stadiums, all located in Quito: Estadio IDV, Estadio Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda and
Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado.
Which tournaments does it qualify for?
The CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™ no longer grants spots for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup. From this cycle forward, there will be separate South American Women's Qualifiers, starting later this year after the continental tournament.
The finalists will qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games*.
The third to fifth places will earn spots for the Pan American Games.
If Peru, as the host of the Pan American Games, finishes between third and fifth, an extra spot will be given to the sixth-place team.
*If the IOC/FIFA make any changes to the number of slots allocated to CONMEBOL, a review will be conducted to determine how they will be distributed.
