Colombia will seek their second title at CONMEBOL Copa America™ this Sunday, July 14, when they face Argentina, the defending champion and the tournament's most successful team (15 titles) along with Uruguay.

The team led by Néstor Lorenzo finished first in Group D after defeating Paraguay and Costa Rica and drawing with Brazil. In the Quarterfinals, they beat Panama, and in the Semifinals, they did the same with Uruguay.

With this victory in the Semifinals, Colombia ended a streak of three semifinal eliminations: 2004, 2016, and 2021. Additionally, they became the fourth team to reach more than one final in the 21st century, after Argentina (6), Brazil (4), and Chile (2).

Lerma's goal against Uruguay also set a record for Colombia: it is the first time they have reached 12 goals in a single edition of the tournament, surpassing the 11 scored in the two editions they reached the final (1975 and 2001).

On the day James Rodríguez achieved the assist record, Colombia also extended their unbeaten streak to 28 matches.
