  • Martínez scored three goals in the 4-0 win over Bolivia.
  • The young striker broke Deyna Castellanos’ 2018 record.

A dream debut for Paraguay, and an even more special one for young Claudia Martínez. Not only did she score a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Bolivia this Sunday, July 13, but she also set a new record in this CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™.

At just 17 years and 179 days old, Martínez became the youngest player to score more than once in a single match in the last three editions of the continental tournament. She surpassed the mark of Venezuela’s Deyna Castellanos (18 years and 356 days), who had held the record since 2018. Interestingly, both players could face each other in Group B later in the competition.

Martínez is in stunning form: before shining in Quito, the forward was the top scorer at this year’s U17 South American Championship, netting 10 goals in 9 matches and leading Paraguay to the title.
