- Led 3-0, conceded the equalizer, but reacted in time.
- Vaamonde scored twice.
Venezuela came from a heavy 12-3 defeat against Brazil. In the third matchday of the CONMEBOL Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025™, they achieved a crucial victory that strengthens their position in the race for the semifinals.
La Vinotinto fought hard and was superior to Peru until halfway through the match: leading 3-0 midway through the second period. But in just five minutes, La Blanquirroja equalized: a powerful left-footed strike (Velezmoro), a header after a bicycle kick (Sialer), and an own goal (Fausto Escobar) made it 3-3 heading into the third period.
On the very first play of that third period, Betancourt—who had missed the second game due to suspension—unleashed a rocket to regain the lead. Venezuela regained control, and after a majestic team play, Carlos Pérez tapped in the 5-3 goal for La Vinotinto.
With 6 points, La Vinotinto will face Argentina on the next matchday, Wednesday, February 26, in a crucial clash. Peru will have a bye and will play their last Group Stage match against Paraguay.
