Paraguay shined and had a great debut against Bolivia
In the opening match of Group B, La Albirroja defeated La Verde 4-0 and kicked off the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™ on the right foot.

- Claudia Martínez was the standout player of the match.
- Bolivia will face Brazil in the next round.
Paraguay opened Group B of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ with a convincing win that sparks excitement.
Fabio Fukumoto’s team dominated the game from the start, with 17-year-old Claudia Martínez as the standout performer.
In the 23rd minute, the Olimpia forward broke through on the left and scored with her left foot. In the 40th, after a quick counterattack and a good cross from Bareiro, Martínez controlled the ball in the box and struck with her right foot to extend the lead.
Fátima Acosta also had her chance between Martínez's goals, but Jodi Medina stopped her one-on-one effort — with help from her face.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, a defensive miscommunication by Bolivia allowed Martínez to outpace the backline and poke the ball in with her right foot to complete her hat-trick.
In the final minutes, captain Lice Chamorro added another to seal an important 4-0 victory.
Martínez had recently been the top scorer (10 goals) and champion of the CONMEBOL U-17 Women’s 2025 — less than two months ago — and is off to a similar start in the senior tournament.
Paraguay will rest in the second round and return to action on Saturday, July 19, against Colombia. Bolivia will look to bounce back on Wednesday, July 16, against Brazil.
