Chile had a great first day at the CONMEBOL Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025™, which it hosts: it defeated Bolivia 3-1 and is the sole leader of Group A.
It was not an easy debut for La Roja. Bolivia, led by Félix Salvatierra, opened the scoring with a goal by their goalkeeper Hurtado in the first half.
Immediately, the hero of the afternoon appeared: Diego San Martín equalized the match with a shot from midfield. In the second period, he scored his second goal with a powerful free-kick to make it 3-1 (Albuerno had given La Roja the lead).
Tobar, the No. 9 of the host team, made a huge save on the line to maintain the 3-1 score at the end of the second half.
Chile will finish Day 2 against Ecuador, while Bolivia will face Colombia, which had a bye in the first round.
