Colombia wins on penalties and will play the Final of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™
Against Argentina, they drew 0-0 and won 5-4 in the penalty shootout.

- Hard-fought match with no clear dominance.
- Brazil vs Uruguay will determine the other finalist.
The first semifinal of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ is history: after a competitive 0-0 draw in regular time, Colombia secured their spot in the final by winning on penalties.
In the 8th minute, Argentina had the first big chance: after a great recovery by Falfán and a quick assist, Yamila Rodríguez went one-on-one with goalkeeper Tapia, who rushed out and blocked the shot of the top scorer from the last CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™. Yamila, Flor Bonsegundo, and Aldana Cometti also came close to scoring with long-range efforts.
After the first 20 minutes of Argentine superiority, Colombia settled into the game and ended the half looking stronger.
In the second half, Colombia had much more possession and created several opportunities to break the deadlock. Mayra Ramírez, Cata Usme, Manuela Pavi, and Loboa were the standout players.
Flor Bonsegundo and Linda Caicedo, key players for Argentina and Colombia, had clear chances in the final 10 minutes, but neither found the net. In the final minute, a Colombian attack featuring Pavi was reviewed by VAR for a potential penalty. It wasn’t given, and the match ended 0-0.
The finalist was decided in a penalty shootout. After a 4-4 tie in the first five kicks, Eliana Stábile hit the post on Argentina’s sixth attempt, and Colombia won 5-4.
With the win, Colombia qualified for the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™ Final, to be played on Saturday, August 2, against the winner of Brazil vs Uruguay. Argentina will play for third place against the loser of that match.
