• La Verde debuts on June 23 against the United States at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

• It will be the first big test for their coach Zago.

Bolivia is preparing for the 48th edition of the world's oldest national team tournament, with a coach who already knows what it means to win CONMEBOL Copa América™ (as a player, with Brazil in 1999) and the excitement that a new opportunity brings. Among the standout figures of La Verde are:

Ramiro Vaca

A talented attacking midfielder, born in Tarija on July 1, 1999, he debuted for the national team at just 17 years old and has already played more than 30 matches.

Vaca was part of the Bolivian team in the previous two editions of the CONMEBOL Copa América™: 2019 and 2021. He has played five matches in the prestigious continental tournament.

His club career began at Quebracho, from there he moved to The Strongest (both in Bolivia). In 2021, he emigrated to Belgian football to gain experience with Beerschot V.A. In 2023, Bolívar bought his transfer rights, marking his return to Bolivian football.

In 2024, he helped Bolívar qualify for the Round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores, finishing first in their group, ahead of Millonarios (Colombia), Palestino (Chile), and Flamengo (Brazil). Vaca was one of the team's key players, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

The goalkeeper is one of the experienced players Zago has in his squad and could play in his fourth CONMEBOL Copa América™ in 2024, having participated in 2016, 2019, and 2021.

Born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra on March 17, 1987, he emerged from Bolívar, where he debuted at the age of 20. He played for San José and Sport Boys (both in his country) before signing for Huachipato, where he went 462 minutes without conceding a goal, a record in the history of the Chilean team. After his last stint at Huachipato, he returned to his country to play for Always Ready.

He also defended the goal for three teams in Argentina: Boca Juniors, Vélez Sarsfield, and Atlético de Tucumán, his last club before returning in 2023 to Bolívar, where he is currently playing in the Round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores.
