Before the start of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2019 Grand Final, an exciting closing ceremony was held on the field of the Maracaná stadium, with children representing all CONMEBOL countries. Before the joyful dances of the artists, Chilean Matís Fernández returned the CONMEBOL Copa América trophy, which the Austral team won in 2015. Colorful dresses and dances were performed, while among the South American flags emerged the Brazilian singers Anitta and Puerto Rican Pedro Capó, who sang 'Downtown' and 'Calma', respectively. The tournament closing ceremony began on Sunday with a minute's silence for the death of Joao Gilberto, one of the parents of Bossa Nova, which occurred on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian legend of music died at the age of 88. His soft voice whispering 'Garota de Ipanema' continues touching hearts almost 60 years after its recording.
