Bolivia lifted the CONMEBOL Copa América trophy for the only time in the 1963 home edition, with the Hernando Siles Stadium in La Paz and the Féliz Capriles Stadium in Cochabamba as venues.
La Verde went undefeated, winning 5 and drawing 1 match, with Máximo Alcócer as top scorer (5 goals) and Ramiro Blancut as one of the stars of the tournament. In 1997 they were also runner-up at home, losing in the Final against Brazil.
