  • Each team may register up to a maximum of 26 players on the roster for the continental competition.
  • The maximum number of delegation members on the bench on match days will remain at 23, including players and coaching staff.

The CONMEBOL Competitions and Operations Directorate has communicated adjustments to the Regulations of the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024™, approved by CONMEBOL in a meeting held on May 16, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Regarding the number of players on the roster, the decision is that each team may register up to a maximum of 26 players in the competition (on the roster), maintaining a total of 50 individuals in the delegation covered by the event's organization (accommodation, meals, transportation, etc., according to the financial regime and prize structure outlined in Chapter 17 of the Competition Regulations). All players (up to 26 players) must be included in the Provisional List submitted by May 5, 2024 (6:00 p.m. Paraguay time), according to Article 58 of the Regulations.

Thus, if a Member Association of CONMEBOL (AMP) decides to register more than 23 players, it must automatically register fewer staff to total 50 members in the delegation (for instance, if an AMP chooses to register 26 players, the number of staff registered on the roster must be 24 members).

The maximum number of delegation members on the bench on match days will remain at 23, including players and coaching staff. In the event that an AMP chooses to field 26 players – 11 on the field and 15 on the bench, the maximum number of staff on the bench should be 8, for example. It is important to mention that the maximum number of substitute players on the bench for each match is 15, and the minimum number of substitute players on the bench for each match is 7.

The possibility of registering up to 15 extra staff (all associated costs for these extras are the responsibility of the AMP) remains, allowing an AMP to have up to 65 accredited individuals in the delegation.
