The group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has concluded for the CONMEBOL teams with a positive outcome. Five of the six South American representatives secured their qualification for the Round of 32: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Paraguay will continue their journey in the global tournament.
With the conclusion of the group stage, the first matchups for the South American teams have also been determined, as they seek to maintain the region's prominence in the knockout stage.
Argentina finished with a perfect record.
The reigning world champions completed a flawless group stage by defeating Jordan 3-1, following victories against Algeria and Austria.
Lionel Scaloni's team finished top of Group J with a perfect record and will face Cape Verde in the Round of 32.

Colombia finished first and will face Ghana
The team managed by Néstor Lorenzo once again showed strength and finished Group K as leaders.

Ecuador achieved a historic qualification
La Tri pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the third matchday.
After losing to Ivory Coast and drawing with Curaçao, Ecuador needed to beat Germany to stay in the competition. They achieved this with a historic 2-1 victory, allowing them to advance to the knockout stage.
Now they face a new challenge against Mexico.
