The game started with intensity and strong defending on both sides, limiting chances. Venezuela looked more dangerous early on, with good chances from Castellanos in the first minute and two efforts by Dayana Rodríguez. In the clearest of them, at the 24-minute mark, she received a through ball and, spotting Lorena off her line, attempted a chip that went wide.

Gradually, Brazil found their rhythm with short passes and broke the deadlock. In the 32nd minute, Isa Haas played it to Gio on the right, who crossed it perfectly for Amanda Gutierres to tap in.

In the second half, the match remained tight. Venezuela pushed forward while Brazil protected their lead. A key moment came in the 82nd minute when Amanda crossed to Dudinha, but Nay Cáceres made a brilliant save.

In the final minutes, Gio headed a ball into the path of Duda, who struck a low shot past Cáceres to seal the 2-0 win.

Brazil returns to action on Wednesday, July 16, against Bolivia. On the same day, Venezuela will face Colombia in the second round of Group B.
