Canada and Venezuela Aim To Make History At The CONMEBOL Copa América™ Quarterfinals

On July 5 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Canada and Venezuela will battle for a spot in the tournament’s Semifinals.

Argentine Fernando Batista has guided Venezuela to three straight victories in the tournament for the first time in history as well as their first come-from-behind victory. They defeated Ecuador 2-1 in the opening match after falling behind 0-1 to start the game and then go on to beat Mexico and Jamaica to win Group B and earn their spot in the knockout rounds. La Vinotinto has a whole country dreaming of winning the tournament for the first time in their history, but first, La Vinotinto will try to win four games straight at CONMEBOL Copa América™ for the first time ever against Canada on Friday.


For the Canadians, they reached the quarterfinals by rebounding from their opening match loss to Argentina and defeating Peru and drawing Chile. Jesse Marsch’s men emerged from a tough Group A with a spot in the knockout rounds in their first ever appearance at CONMEBOL Copa América™. Now, they’ll see how far they can go in their first attempt, writing their country’s record books as they go.
