Miguel Almirón
One of the most experienced players in Daniel Garnero's squad is Almirón, who has played in three editions of CONMEBOL Copa América™: 2016, 2019, and 2021. He has competed in 10 matches and scored one goal.
Born in Asunción on February 10, 1994, he debuted for the Paraguayan national team at the age of 21 and has already surpassed 50 national team appearances.
Almirón began his career at Cerro Porteño (Paraguay), where he made his first division debut. He then moved to Lanús (Argentina), where he won the local league in 2016. That great year earned him the interest of MLS, and he was signed by Atlanta United, where he won MLS Cup. His constant growth led him to play in the Premier League with Newcastle United, arriving as a record transfer for both MLS and the Magpies.
At Newcastle, he was a key player in helping the team return to the Champions League after 20 years.
Julio Enciso
Born on January 23, 2004, in Caaguazú, Enciso debuted for the national team during the oldest international tournament: he made his first appearance in the group stage against Bolivia in the 2021 CONMEBOL Copa América™. He also received minutes in that tournament against Peru in the quarter-finals.
In the past two years, injuries have kept him out of the national team, with which he has already accumulated 12 matches.
Enciso began his career at Libertad (Paraguay), where he was coached by Garnero, and together they won the 2021 Apertura title. Before turning 17, Enciso also scored in the CONMEBOL Libertadores, placing him among the youngest to do so.
His high performance in Paraguay caught the attention of European scouts, and Brighton signed him in 2022. Alongside a great South American contingent (Mac Allister, Estupiñan, Caicedo), that team finished in a historic sixth place in the Premier League and qualified for the Europa League. The goal that secured the qualification, against Manchester City, was scored by Enciso.
Ramón Sosa
A fast winger who stands out at Talleres de Córdoba (Argentina), Sosa has become highly regarded in the national team with the arrival of Garnero, under whom he played 5 of his 9 matches for La Albirroja.
Born in Maracaná on August 31, 1999, Sosa's career began at River Plate (Paraguay), where he made his first division debut before being transferred to Olimpia, also in Paraguay. In 2022, he moved to Gimnasia de La Plata (Argentina), and a year later, he was bought by the Cordoba team.
In the past year, Sosa has become one of the most interesting prospects in Paraguayan football, with interest from major teams in both Argentina and Europe to sign him in the next transfer window.
