1- Debut at 20 years old
On February 7, 2007, the FC Groningen (Netherlands) striker played his first match for the national team against Colombia. His first goal would come later that year, in a World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.
2- Fourth place in the 2010 World Cup
Suárez started in 6 matches at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and scored 3 goals in the best performance by La Celeste in a World Cup this century.
3- Champion and Best Player of the 2011 CONMEBOL Copa América™
Suárez had a dream tournament in Argentina, scoring 4 goals, including one in the final against Paraguay. He was one of the tournament's top scorers and was named Best Player of the Tournament.
