The Belo Horizonte team started with Junior Alonso, Alan Franco, and Guilherme Arana. Eduardo Vargas joined in the second half. River was the team with the most players participating in the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ among the four remaining competitors: five starters (Armani, Pezzella, Paulo Díaz, Marcos Acuña, and Borja) along with Bareiro, who came in as a substitute.
In the other bracket, Jefferson Savarino started for Botafogo. The Venezuelan had been crucial in the first leg, scoring two goals.
On Saturday, November 30, the CONMEBOL Libertadores champion will be decided. Among the five previously mentioned players, only Eduardo Vargas has won the CONMEBOL Copa América™: he did so in 2015 and 2016. In both editions, he was the top scorer of the world’s oldest national team tournament.
