History of the stadium
Construction of Allegiant Stadium began in 2017 and was completed in 2020 and it is now one of the most modern multi-purpose stadiums for large events in the United States. Located on Al Davis Way, the stadium runs parallel to the imposing Las Vegas boulevard, also known as the Strip, where the largest and most famous casinos are located. It is home to the Las Vegas Raiders, of the National Football League (NFL), and the UNLV Rebels, the American football team for the University of Las Vegas. The Stadium can hold up to 65,000 spectators. It hosted Super Bowl LVIII in early 2024, hosted friendly matches for European clubs such as Barcelona, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, and is often used for U.S. national soccer team matches.
Fun fact: with more than 28,000 tons of steel in its composition, Allegiant Stadium is heavier than the famous Statue of Liberty (and its 305 feet high).
Transportation
Airport: Harry Reid International Airport is Las Vegas' main commercial aviation airport and is located about 5 miles (7.4 km) from Allegiant Stadium, the same distance from major hotels on the Strip.
For more information on departures and arrivals from Harry Reid International Airport, please see here.
Public Transportation: Las Vegas is served by the Regional Transportation Commission, responsible for the famous “the Deuce” bus that runs the entire length of the Strip. In addition, the Las Vegas Monorail is another higher-speed option available to both residents and tourists.
