History of each stadium


One of the oldest CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ venues, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium was built in 1972 to be the home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. It holds the Guinness World Record for the loudest stadium, a record set in 2014 when the Chiefs played the New England Patriots. The stadium was also chosen as one of the 16 venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.




On the other hand, Children's Mercy Park was built in 2011 as a soccer-specific stadium for Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. While it is the home of Sporting KC, the stadium has also become a regular venue for the US men's and women's soccer teams.
