The City of Champions hosts two matches during the Group Stage of this edition.

CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ Matches at SoFi Stadium

History of the stadium

Watch on YouTube

SoFi Stadium was built between 2016 and 2020 and has a modern style, with an emphasis on a 360-degree screen suspended above the playing field, capable of being seen from any seat in the venue. In addition, its canopy is a completely independent structure from the stadium itself, and can be partially opened or closed for ventilation or lighting. It has a capacity of 65,500 spectators in this CONMEBOL Copa América™, although it can receive even more visitors at certain events.

SoFi is home to the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, has hosted a Super Bowl in 2022 (LVI edition, won by the Rams over the Cincinnati Bengals) and will host another in 2027 (LXI). Soccer has also been gaining ground at the venue, as Inglewood hosted the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup final, won by Mexico, as well as preseason friendlies from European teams such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United.

Fun fact: The panels that make up the roof of SoFi Stadium are capable of projecting high-definition images that can be seen from above, more specifically, by planes arriving and departing from nearby Los Angeles International Airport.

Transportation

Airport: Los Angeles International Airport is located in El Segundo, which neighbors Inglewood, and is one of the busiest in the world. The distance between LAX and the SoFi Stadium is 4.7 miles (7.5 km) and 9.8 miles (15.8 km) from Santa Monica, one of the metropolis' top tourist destinations.

Public Transportation: Inglewood is served by LA Metro, which includes most cities in Los Angeles County. In addition to bus options, SoFi Stadium is served by two Los Angeles Rail lines: the K line (which interchanges with the E line, Downtown LA-Santa Monica) at the Downtown Inglewood station and the C line (Redondo Beach-Norwalk) at the Hawthorne/Lennox station. The metro is a good option to get within the stadium’s vicinity although it does not reach it directly.

About Inglewood

Inglewood is a relatively small city, a cog in the huge metropolis that is Los Angeles. It is a neighbor to the South Central region of Los Angeles and is relatively far from the main well-known attractions in Hollywood, Santa Monica and the surrounding areas. Interestingly, it was once the center of sports and entertainment when the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers (of the NBA) played their games at The Forum, which also hosted big shows and concerts.

What will interest visitors the most will be the activities that can be done in Los Angeles, the beaches and glamour of Hollywood, the mansions of Beverly Hills and the world-famous film and television studios. In addition, Los Angeles and the region are home to the Lakers and Clippers (NBA), Rams, Chargers (NFL), Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA), Dodgers and Angels (Major League Baseball), Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy, LAFC (MLS) and Angel City FC (NWSL, women's soccer).

Some notable tourist attractions include:

During the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™, the Los Angeles Sparks, the Dodgers, the Angels, the Galaxy, LAFC and Angel City will be competing in their respective leagues and are potential attractions for those interested in their home games.
