This Friday, December 5, the groups for the 2026 World Cup —to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico— were drawn.
Brazil, one of the two South American top seeds, will be in Group C, and their rivals in the initial phase will be Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.
The other CONMEBOL top seed is Argentina, the reigning champion. Algeria, Austria, and Jordan will be the Albiceleste’s rivals.
Paraguay will be in Group D with the United States, Australia, and the winner of UEFA Playoff C. Ecuador will be in Group E with Germany, Curaçao, and Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, Uruguay will be in Group H with Spain, Cape Verde, and Saudi Arabia. Colombia will be in Group K with Portugal, Uzbekistan, and the winner of Playoff 1.
Bolivia, seventh in the South American Qualifiers, will play the playoff in March, and if they win, they will join Group I with France, Senegal, and Norway.
