CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 Documentary Series Now Available on Disney+
The new production invites viewers to relive South America's historic football tournament through exclusive interviews with key protagonists and never-before-seen footage captured by exclusive cameras offering unique access to emotional moments on and off the pitch.

Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA (July 14, 2025) – Copa América 2024: The Legacy, a new six-episode documentary series centered on last year’s historic football championship held in the United States, is now exclusively available on Disney+. Produced by Offline Sports in partnership with the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), the series features exclusive footage and unprecedented access to key moments throughout the tournament, presented through an epic and compelling narrative that follows all 16 participating teams.
Across six episodes, Copa América 2024: The Legacy invites audiences to relive the tournament through unique stories told from authentic perspectives. With three production teams covering the championship coast-to-coast, the series takes viewers inside buses, hallways, locker rooms, and other restricted areas to reveal unseen moments of players, coaching staff, and thousands of fans who traveled to the U.S. to cheer on their teams.
The series highlights Lionel Messi’s leadership, key saves by Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez, and the farewell of a golden generation that made way for new talent. Among the many milestones are Ángel Di María’s final match with Argentina, Neymar watching games from the stands, James Rodríguez’s leadership with Colombia, and Luis Suárez’s farewell as Uruguay begins a new era under head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
Epic match moments are also recalled, such as Costa Rica’s draw with Brazil, Uruguay’s match with 10 men, Ecuador’s dramatic goal against Argentina, and the “rebirth” of James Rodríguez at 33.
The episodes also include heartfelt post-tournament interviews with Ángel Di María, Lautaro Martínez, and former player Javier Zanetti, reflecting on key moments such as Argentina’s triple substitution during the final.
Alejandro Domínguez, CONMEBOL President, stated: “Copa América 2024 is unforgettable for many reasons: the quality of the 16 teams, the massive fan response, the thrilling matches. But above all, it marked a milestone in our sport’s history, showcasing the global impact of South American football. This family-friendly series brings all those emotions back to life.”
Bruno Zurlo, SVP & GM Sports, The Walt Disney Company Latin America, added: “This documentary is a tribute to the soul of South American football—its idols, stories, and emotions. One year after an unforgettable final, we relive the spirit of those who gave it all. We are honored to support this journey with CONMEBOL and bring families together through inspiring content.”
Gonzalo Arias and Diego Piasek, co-founders of Offline Sports, shared: “We’re deeply grateful to CONMEBOL and the Copa Team for entrusting us with this ambitious project. Premiering it a year later on Disney+ is a truly special way to bring the journey full circle.”

ABOUT CONMEBOL
The South American Football Confederation, better known as CONMEBOL (from the telegraphic abbreviation “Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol”), is the Confederation of national football associations in South America.
Founded on July 9, 1916, in Buenos Aires, it is the world’s first football confederation, established nearly 40 years before any other.
CONMEBOL was born from the organization of a tournament among South American nations. The first Copa América, held in Buenos Aires in 1916 to celebrate Argentina’s centennial of independence, marked the beginning of the institution, initially formed by Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Later, other associations joined: Paraguay (1921), Peru (1925), Bolivia (1926), Ecuador (1927), Colombia (1936), and Venezuela (1953).
It is the only football confederation in which all member associations are also affiliated with FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Its ten member national associations are CONMEBOL’s greatest pride.
