Uruguay wins a thrilling match against Ecuador
Won 6-4 and finished in fifth place at the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal Femenina 2025™.

- Ecuador’s Ochoa scored four goals and reached nine in the tournament.
- The score was tied at 1-1, 2-2, and 4-4.
The first match of the final day of the tournament gave us a true thriller: Uruguay and Ecuador delivered their best futsal and ten goals to bid farewell to the competition.
The first half was intense: within the first minute, as Uruguay was attacking, Ochoa stole the ball and fired a shot from her own half, taking advantage of Lupano being off her line. La Celeste equalized with a stunning goal from Shamila González, who placed the ball into the top corner, and then took the lead with a great team play (including a backheel pass from Márquez) that top scorer Scaletti pushed into the net.
Ochoa tied it up again with two minutes left, but Silvera and Villar quickly responded, scoring back-to-back goals to send Uruguay into halftime with a 4-2 lead.
In the second half, Andrea Ochoa (Ecuador’s standout player in the tournament) opened up her foot to precisely place her shot and cut the deficit. Ochoa herself then equalized with a strike from the left wing, reaching her ninth goal of the tournament.
With three minutes remaining, Celeste Santana shook off her marker, fired a shot that went through the Ecuadorian goalkeeper’s legs, and put Uruguay back in the lead. A minute later, Naiara Ferrari capitalized on a rebound to seal the final 6-4 scoreline.
Ecuador finished in sixth place, while Uruguay secured fifth place at the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal Femenina 2025™.
