  • Rocío Maira scored the winning goal two minutes before the end.
  • Peru has three losses in the tournament.

At the start of the third matchday of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal Femenina 2025™, two teams without points in Group B faced off: Chile and Peru.

The first half was marked by absolute parity and cautious play from both teams. They protected their goals well, keeping a clean sheet but failing to break through their opponent's defense. At halftime, the score remained 0-0.

The second half started with a brilliant individual play by Vilma Ruiz, who dribbled from the center to the right and struck a powerful shot off the goalkeeper’s post to open the scoring.

Peru took control and went in search of the equalizer. Just as they had done against Argentina on the second day, they heavily utilized the goalkeeper-player strategy, which proved to be a key factor in scoring their goal.

With the talented Nayeli Conde playing in that dual role, Peru attacked Chile relentlessly. After a series of rebounds, the No. 11's shot led to Gonzáles pushing the ball into the net for the equalizer.

It seemed like the match was heading toward the tournament’s first draw, but Chile also deployed its goalkeeper-player strategy. Allende initiated the play, which ended with Rocío Maira (who had already scored against Colombia) finishing with her left foot at the near post. Only two minutes remained, and that goal sealed the result.

Chile will have a bye on Wednesday, the 26th, and will play its last group match on Thursday against Uruguay. Meanwhile, Peru (still without points) will conclude its participation in this phase against Colombia on Wednesday.
