La Roja was part of Group A alongside Argentina, Peru, and Canada. They recorded two goalless draws (against Peru and Canada) and a narrow 1-0 loss to Argentina. They failed to progress past the Group Stage, and the tournament marked the end of Claudio Bravo's illustrious career.

The team entered the final double matchday with four consecutive losses. However, in the year's last matches, the return of Arturo Vidal helped them secure a draw against Peru and a victory over Venezuela, lifting them out of the bottom position. They now have 9 points, four behind Bolivia, who currently occupy the playoff spot.
