Brazil earns Silver Medal at the 2024 Olympic Games

The women's team reached the Final and lost 1-0 to the United States.

Brazil reached the Final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where they lost 1-0 to the United States, thanks to Mallory Swanson's goal in the second half.


This victory marked the fifth Olympic Gold for the United States in this tournament, which they hadn’t they hadn’t won since London 2012.


Brazil qualified for the Olympic tournament thanks to their title at CONMEBOL Copa América™ in 2022. Colombia (finalist) was the other CONMEBOL team that qualified for the Olympics.


In Paris, Brazil advanced to the Quarterfinals after finishing third in Group C, behind Spain and Japan. In the Quarterfinals, they defeated host France 1-0, and in the Semifinals, they overcame Spain 4-2.


The match against the United States marked the farewell of Marta, the legendary player of the Brazilian national team, who entered in the second half. Marta played in the Olympic Games six times and won three Silver Medals: in all the finals, she lost to the United States.


The podium at Paris 2024 was completed by Germany, who defeated Spain 1-0 in the match for the Bronze Medal.
