The first Women’s Futsal World Cup was held in the Philippines and ended with a South American champion: Brazil shone throughout the entire tournament and lifted the trophy after defeating Portugal in the final.
Brazil beat Iran (4–1), Italy (6–1) and Panama (9–0) in the Group Stage to top Group D; then routed Japan 6–1 in the quarterfinals, won 4–1 against Spain in the semifinals and closed the campaign with a 3–0 win over Portugal in the final. They finished with 32 goals scored and only 4 conceded.
They also had Emilly as both Golden Ball and Golden Boot winner, with seven goals in the tournament. Debora Vanin (6 goals), Ana Luiza (4) and Amandinha (4) were the team’s other top scorers.
The other CONMEBOL teams also advanced past the Group Stage: Colombia reached the quarterfinals, where they fell to Argentina. La Albiceleste finished in fourth place after losing their final match against Spain.
Brazil closes its season with two titles, following their triumph in the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal Femenina 2025™.
