Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia. The capital of the Peach State, Atlanta is known as the Mecca of the southeastern United States. Its metropolitan population is the sixth largest in the country and the largest in the southeast. Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host two group stage matches of CONMEBOL Copa América™, including the tournament's opening match.

Stadium History

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in 2017, was built to be the permanent home of Atlanta United, a Major League Soccer club, and the Atlanta Falcons, an NFL team. This year, the stadium will host the first match of the CONMEBOL Copa América™ tournament, Argentina vs. Canada.


The stadium features a retractable roof and a capacity of up to 73,019 people for soccer matches. During its brief history, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium has already hosted a variety of major sporting events such as Super Bowl LIII, the 2018 College Football National Championship, and will be one of the 11 U.S. venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During CONMEBOL Copa América™, the Atlanta Braves will play at home between June 14-19, June 28-30, and from July 2-7. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Dream will have home games on June 21 and 23, and on July 2 and 12.

Airport: Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic. The airport is located approximately 16 kilometers south of downtown Atlanta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
