After two matchdays of the Women’s Futsal World Cup in the Philippines, Argentina and Brazil have already secured their spots in the quarterfinals.
In Group A, Argentina defeated Morocco 6-0 in the opening match (goals by Dupuy, Villalbra, Natta, Romero, Chiesa and Ontiveros) and then beat Poland 3-2 (goals by Rossi, Chiesa and Nava) to clinch their quarterfinal berth. In the final match, already qualified, they defeated the Philippines 5-1.
Meanwhile in Group C, Brazil recorded comfortable wins over Iran by 4-1 (Emilly x2, Debora Vanin and Ana Luiza) and Italy by 6-1 (Amandinha x2, Camila, Debora Vanin, Emilly and Ana Luiza). They will play their final group match against Panama this Saturday.
Colombia and Thailand will play for qualification when they face each other on the third matchday. Both arrive with one win, although the Asian side has a better goal difference.
Between Monday, December 1 and Tuesday, December 2, the quarterfinals will be played.
