Match Summary

Uruguay's start was electrifying. Moving at a faster pace than Bolivia, Marcelo Bielsa's team dominated the ball from the beginning and opened the scoring before ten minutes. In the 8', a cross from outside the area was headed by Ronald Araujo to the center, and Pellistri sent it into the net with a header from close range.

Without waiting as long as against Panama, Darwin Núñez scored again: a quick play on the left ended with Maxi Araújo passing the ball, and the Liverpool forward shot strongly with his left foot into the goal. It was 22 minutes in, and Uruguay led 2-0.

A faulty clearance in midfield by Uruguay could have ended in the goal of the tournament: Carmelo Algañaraz shot from midfield, and the ball was close to going in.

In the early second half, Uruguay slowed down, moving the ball without much depth, while Bolivia didn't threaten Rochet's goal.

Facundo Pellistri was close to scoring the third with a shot inside the penalty area and without a goalkeeper, but he couldn't connect with the ball.

In the last fifteen minutes, Uruguay unleashed: Maximiliano Araújo, at 77', after a good assist from Nicolás de la Cruz, scored again in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

The fourth goal for Bielsa's team came from Federico Valverde, who connected a pass back from Pellistri and shot to the corner to extend Uruguay's lead in New Jersey.

It wouldn't be the last either: with a header at 89', Rodrigo Bentancur scored the 5th goal for Bielsa's team over Zago's.

Uruguay added another 3 points and is on the verge of qualifying for the Quarterfinals.
