• The young winger adds another record to his growing list of accomplishments.

• Lionel Messi was the youngest player to score in two Champions League finals.

Vinicius Jr was only 21 years old when he scored the game-winning goal in the 2022 UEFA Champions League final. The young Brazilian fired in a cross from Fede Valverde, against Liverpool, in the 59th minute and helped Los Blancos lift their 14th UEFA Champions League title.

Fast forward two years later, and it was Vinicius Jr again who helped secure Madrid's 15th title. This time, he scored Real Madrid's second goal in the match to finally seal the game against Borussia Dortmund and secure the trophy, in the match played at Wembley.

That second goal also put the São Gonçalo-born winger in the record books as the youngest player to score in two Champions League finals.

The last player to hold that honor? Lionel Messi, the champion of the last CONMEBOL Copa América™, whom he surpassed by 14 days.

Just another achievement for a rising star who has already reached the top of world football.

If we include the European Cup (the predecessor to the Champions League), then Eusebio is the youngest to achieve it at 21 years and 117 days.

Additionally, Vinicius Jr is the fifth player to score goals in his first two Champions League finals, after Samuel Eto'o, Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, and Mario Mandzukic. He also entered the Top 25 of all-time leading scorers for Real Madrid (with 83 goals) and equaled Carlos Santillana and Amancio Amaro in seventh place as the top scorer for the Whites in the Champions League.

On his way to the Champions League final this year, Vinicius proved once again to be invaluable in the competition for the eventual champions. In 10 matches, he scored 6 goals, recorded 3 shots per match, and nearly 2 key passes per match.

Now, at 23 years old, the Brazilian already has three La Liga titles, including this year, two Champions League titles, and a Copa del Rey title.

The only thing missing now are titles with his national team. After the Champions League celebrations, Vinicius Jr will turn his full attention to the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™, where he will fight to win his first international trophy. If called up by Dorival Jr, Vinicius, along with his teammates, will face Costa Rica in their opening match of the tournament on June 24 at the SoFi Stadium.
