CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™: How is Qualification for the Quarter-Finals Shaping Up?

Some teams have already secured their place in the next phase of the oldest national teams' tournament in the world.

  • Argentina and Canada have qualified in Group A, Venezuela and Ecuador from Group B, and Colombia from Group D.
  • The other three qualified teams will be determined on the last matchday.

The Group Stage of CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ has reached an exciting moment. There are 4 matches left to determine the final qualifiers, all from Groups C and D.



Each Scenario, Group by Group:




Group A


Argentina qualified first with 9 points, and Canada qualified second with 4 points.



Group B




Venezuela won its three matches, reaching 9 points and qualifying first in Group B. Ecuador has drawn with Mexico in the last group round to advance as well - both teams ended with 4 points, but the South Americans qualify on better goal difference (+1 vs 0 from Mexico).



Group C


Uruguay finished in first place with 9 points, while Panama secured second place with 6 points.



Group D


Colombia has reached 6 points and is qualified, followed by Brazil (4), Costa Rica (1), and Paraguay (0).


On the final matchday, Brazil will face Colombia and Costa Rica will face Paraguay.


Scenarios:


If Brazil wins or draws, they will qualify for the Quarterfinals regardless of the Costa Rica-Paraguay result.


If Brazil loses to Colombia and Costa Rica beats Paraguay, the tiebreaker criteria will determine the outcome.


If Costa Rica does not beat Paraguay, Brazil will qualify for the Quarterfinals regardless of their result.
